Maserati lowers the price of its Grecale to almost the same level as the electric Porsche Macan

Third price cut in less than six months for the Maserati Grecale. After an initial reduction targeting the Folgore electric version in November 2024then a wider adjustment in February 2025 on several models in the, Maserati strikes again in April with a complete overhaul of the Grecale offering and lower prices. An offensive strategy, as Porsche switches the Macan entirely to electric power, leaving the way clear for a premium internal combustion version.

A new Grecale range to appeal to a wider audience

On Thursday April 17, CEO Santo Ficili unveiled the new MY25 range of Grecale SUVs. Don't expect a restyling, just a strategic repositioning. Alongside the already familiar Modena, Trofeo and Folgore versions, there is now a version simply named "Grecale", with a 300 hp 4-cylinder hybrid engine and equipment more oriented towards luxury than sportiness: 20″ diamond-cut wheels, premium leather upholstery, heated comfort seats...

Maserati aims to broaden its customer base with a more accessible, customizable offering. Up to 11 body colors, numerous options and an infinite number of customizations via the Fuoriserie program.

Prices down sharply in all countries

But what really stands out are the rates. Here are the changes between 2024, February 2025 and April 2025.

A strategy that could pay off

At a time when Porsche has withdrawn the combustion Macan from its European catalog, leaving only the electric version priced at €83,000, Maserati has a unique opportunity. The Grecale now starts at around €83,000 in France, Germany and Italy, and above all still available with an internal combustion engine, the Trident brand can appeal to those who want Italian luxury without going electric.

At a time when Maserati is struggling to meet its volume targets, this more aggressive pricing strategy, coupled with an enriched and better-positioned product offering, could make the Grecale the most versatile Italian luxury SUV on the market. It remains to be seen whether customers will follow.

9 opinions on "Maserati drops the price of its Grecale almost to the price of the electric Porsche Macan"

  1. Interesting initiative.
However, I'm not sure it will make much difference. For Maserati, it's the brand's future that's the problem, and potential customers know this and feel it in the price, not just the catalog! These vehicles need to sell well and not lose too much value. Who wants to risk that with a Maserati with a dubious future?

  2. Either too expensive or not worth the price, I believe that the people who doubt are not the real buyers of this brand and that in fact they may never have tasted the forbidden fruit. Too bad for them. I'm on my eighth and the fact that I'm driving an exclusive car is more than enough for me than driving a German, which are certainly very good vehicles...but so commonplace!

But that's just one point of view!

    • I don't know if you're representative of the Maserati customer even after 8 cars, I've only bought 2 but I used them every day. I bought them new to enjoy them as much as possible and the first one had an engine failure just after its warranty and 80,000 km, the other one (the current one) forced me to spend a lot of money around 100,000 km and 4 years of age.... I love these cars for their incredible lines and sound, but it's a shame that maintenance is as exclusive as the purchase itself...

  3. It was about a time! Grecale can't be sold as luxury, only as a premium! Price was the only reason people didn't buy it. I saw a lot of reviews starting Doug deMouro and they all said its too expensive since is not v8.

Now they need good advertising. And only good is to contact car wow and Matt to review it!!!!

  5. It has long been a dream of mine to own a Maserati. You only live once (on Earth!) and you have to give yourself the means to live your dreams ✨.
The price of a Grecale is close to that of a DS7 and an Audi Q5 👀☺️...
    Ciao tutti🌞
