This is it Maserati is finally on the road to electrification, as planned in its product plan. Yesterday we announced opening the controls of the electric Granturismocalled Folgore for "lightning".
A real gamble for the trident brand for two reasons: firstly, it says goodbye to the V8 engine for 3 electric motors, and secondly, because it is the first luxury brand to launch its 100 % electric model. So yes, you'll say there's already Rimac, but that's more in the hypercar category, or Lotus with its Emeya, which was unveiled a month ago and about which we still have little information (and categorizing Lotus as a luxury car will be a matter of debate).
Yet, the Granturismo will be following in the wake of another car: the Porsche Taycan Turbo S! Launched in 2020, this electric Porsche 100 % has met its public with over 114,000 units sold since its debut. Not bad! Pricing starts at €96,000, but the model that compares favorably with the Granturismo Folgore is the Turbo S, priced from €201,400.
On paper, here's a comparison of the Granturismo Folgore vs Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

On paper, thehe Maserati Granturismo Folgore is an excellent alternative to the Porsche Taycan Turbo S. It's even interesting to note the very similar characteristics, right down to the battery cell supplier. It would seem that the Italian brand had the German model in its sights...
Otherwise, the Maserati will be more exclusive than the Porsche. Design will depend on individual taste. Both offer 4 true seats. The difference is that the Porsche offers rear doors, whereas the Granturismo is a coupe.
