As the Trident brand struggles to regain its footing after a complicated 2024, price reductions on several flagship models seems to be the answer to this unprecedented crisis.
As a reminder, Maserati production figures for 2024 are cause for concern. In fact, the Mirafiori plant, dedicated to the Granturismo and Grancabrio, saw production fall by 74 %, while the Modena plant, dedicated to production of the MC20, dropped by 79 %. Total Maserati production fell by 64 %, with only 9,760 cars produced, compared with 27,166 in 2023. This spectacular decline has dramatic consequences for the brand, which has recorded a decline in sales of 57 % in 2024. " The problem is marketing. We lack prospects and leads. Price cuts to boost sales?

Faced with this critical situation, Maserati has decided to react by lowering prices on certain models in its 2025 range. One of the major announcements concerns the Grancabrio: the version equipped with the 490 hp Nettuno V6 engine is now offered at €169,000. But the price cuts don't stop there. According to our research, Maserati has also made significant reductions on other models such as the Grecale Folgore, Granturismo, Granturismo Trofeo, and Grancabrio Trofeo, with reductions of up to 11% on these vehicles.
In the eurozone, the declines are particularly marked for models such as the Maserati Grecale Folgorewhich sees its price drop by 11 %, from €125,850 to €111,350. The Maserati Granturismowhich is also down 11 %, now stands at €160,650, compared with €181,350 in 2024. The Maserati Grancabrio 2025 comes in at €169,550, a much more attractive offer than previous versions.
In our opinion, this is a welcome reduction. A Maserati Granturismo for €160,000 makes sense, since in 2015 the old Maserati Granturismo S started at €130,000, and the 460 hp Granturismo MC Stradale started at €155,000. The current generation is therefore more luxurious and more powerful for almost the same price as the previous generation.
However, this price readjustment has not (yet?) spread to all markets. In the UK, only the Maserati Grecale Folgore benefits from a price cut of 10 %, while prices for other models, including the Maserati Granturismo and Maserati Grancabrio, have yet to be released. In the U.S., the Maserati Grecale will see a price cut of 2.5 %, but prices of other models for 2025 have yet to be confirmed. In Japan, on the other hand, only the Grecale benefits from a drop of 4 %, but other prices remain unknown.

The price cuts on Maserati's 2025 models are a logical response to the crisis facing the brand. It remains to be seen whether they will be enough to turn the brand around in the long term. Only time will tell.

Unless they stop charging exorbitant rates for regular services (like $3500), Maserati's ill faith of crushing second hand prices and dropping sales numbers will not be cured in the US. Such a shame for such a great car! Extend the warranty, drop or even remove the exorbitant service fees, and see sales soar. Same for Alfa...
I believe that the high price of Maserati isn't justified any longer considering the unreliability, high repair and maintenance costs, and insane depreciation. I own a ghibli and people say it's a beautiful car but follow up with "but those things always break down", and "those are so expensive to service". I was told to repair my turbos would cost me more than the vehicle is worth. I do not believe that marketing is Maserati's issue. The brand is still considered a high end option but I think Maserati owners have been discouraged by the lack of reliability and the rate of depreciation so we don't usually recommend others to purchase this brand because it feels more like a money trap.
Easy fix for Maserati. Increase full service warranty(5-10yrs) without increasing the price. Drop the price by 30-40% for a year or two on the high-end cars - MC20, all the trefeos, and the cars that have been top sellers. Get people excited about owning a Maserati again! With great customer service and prices unheard of it won't take long to be the leader in the industry!

I own a top spec 2018 Granturismo Sport, which I bought new in April 2018 and have done about 16,000 miles. It is, in my opinion, the most beautiful looking car ever built, slightly dated, but a fabulous car. The car cost new £104,065 and I was approached by the dealership when the car was 2 years old, with 4000 miles on the clock and told that they could offer me a great trade in price and they offered £49,000 to replace it with a discounted final model, discounted at £82,000, which would have been a great buy, if I had been in the market, but I was insulted by the offer.
The last of the 4.7 Litre V8's were fabulous cars, if somewhat dated, but, in my opinion, Maserati have got their marketing completely wrong with the replacement, technically more sophisticated, but ridiculously expensive, reflected by the collapse in sales.
I hope Maserati can survive.
The Grecale has been out for many years now but I have yet to see one on the road. Do they really exist?
La riduzione dei prezzi della Maserati appare quanto mai strategica se consideriamo che i principali brand sono più competitivi e più appetibili del 15-20% ,in meno. Gli esperti di marketing e merchandising e tutto i dirigenti Maserati si dovrebbero dimettere per i danni incalcolabili ad un brand esclusivo. Per il resto la situazione dei licenziamenti chiusura fabbriche ed i cospicui cali di vendite sono sotto gli occhi di tutti e di dominio pubblico.
