Lancia is back, and this time in the world of rallying! After several years' absence from the racetrack, the Turin-based brand reinvents itself with the Ypsilon Rally4 HF, a model ready to conquer the winding roads of rally competition. And to mark this return, Lancia announces the creation of Trofeo Lanciawith no less than €160,000 up for grabs for the best drivers, and the possibility of a drive in the European Rally Championship (ERC) in 2026.
Ypsilon Rally4 HF: back to competition
With 212 horsepower under the hood, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF is a true racing beast, designed for competition and developed in partnership with Stellantis Motorsport and two-time world rally champion Miki Biasion.
Luca Napolitano, Lancia's CEO, emphasized that this model, available at a price of €74,500, aims to develop the young talents of tomorrow, while reaffirming the brand's strong Rally identity.
Even before its homologation on March 1, 2025, the Ypsilon Rally4 HF has been a commercial success, with over 80 pre-orders registered across Europe. This figure is proof that the Ypsilon Rally4 HF is already attracting rally enthusiasts and young drivers in search of competition. By way of comparison, when it was launched, the Peugeot 208 Rally4 took around 145 orders.
The Trofeo Lancia: revealing the talents of tomorrow
To top it all off, Lancia introduces the Trofeo Lanciaa competition to be held as part of the Italian Rally Championship (CIAR) 2025. The Trophy is divided into three categories: Junior (under 25), Master (25-35) and Expert (over 35). The winner will have the chance to take part in the 2026 European Rally Championship (ERC) at the wheel of a factory Lancia Ypsilon Rally4 HF, a prize estimated to be worth over €200,000!
In addition to the sporting aspect, the trophy also offers considerable financial support. With a prize fund of €360,000, of which €160,000 is divided between the three categories (Junior, Master and Expert), Lancia is setting up a fair competition, with prizes of up to €5,000 for the winners of each category at each event.
A springboard for young pilots
One of the great strengths of the Trofeo Lancia is its accessibility. With an entry fee of just €2,500 for the whole season (and the option of taking part in certain rounds), this competition is aimed at a wide variety of drivers, from amateurs to semi-professionals. What's more, substantial rewards await the top finishers in each event, with prizes of up to €5,000.
But the real attraction remains the first prize: a place on the official Lancia team in ERC 2026. This project showcases the raw talent of the drivers, offering them a unique chance to make their mark on the international scene.
