Fiat begins 2025 with mixed results. While the Italian brand continues to enjoy great success in Latin America, particularly Brazil, its performance in Europe leaves much to be desired. While sales in Brazil and Argentina are showing good momentum, European figures remain worrying, and the brand is banking on the Fiat Grande Panda to reverse the trend. But will this revival be enough to put Fiat back on the growth track in Europe?
Dynamic growth in Latin America
Fiat is delighted with its results in Latin America. Brazil, with 34,356 registrations in January and 37,362 in February, posted a healthy +10% increase on last year. These figures testify to strong demand in a key market. Argentina, with 9,319 registrations in January and 5,927 in February, posted a spectacular year-on-year increase of +78% in January, although there was a slight dip in February. Despite this, Argentina's performance remains solid, with a two-year increase of +23%.
Europe, a market in decline
Fiat's figures in Europe are less encouraging. In Italy, a crucial market for the brand, sales were down -8% year-on-year, with 15,901 registrations in January and 14,753 in February. In Germany, sales fell by -46%, and in France, the decline was just as marked at -55%. By contrast, markets such as the UK recorded a slight increase of +9% thanks to a good January, although this was insufficient to offset overall losses.
La Grande Panda: a new hope
That's where the Fiat Grande Panda comes in, expected at European dealerships in March 2025comes into play. Although the Grande Panda is not expected until 2026 in Latin America, its launch in Europe could reverse the negative trend. The first deliveries to customers are scheduled for April/May 2025, and it's in the second half of the year that we hope to see a real upturn in sales.
The model, which aims to be compact, practical and economical, could well meet the expectations of European consumers. However, everything will depend on the Grande Panda's ability to appeal to a wide audience. the first weeks on the market have been very positive.
Turkish market on hold
In Turkey, an important market for Fiat, sales are down sharply. With registrations of 4,054 in January and 4,873 in February, Turkey recorded a drastic drop of -61% compared to last year and -55% compared to two years ago. The launch of the Grande Panda in Turkey is scheduled for summer 2025, and it is still too early to judge its impact on sales. Positive results on sales are not expected before 2026 for this country.
Fiat in figures: a mixed start to 2025
Compiling January and February 2025 data for the countries below, Fiat's total registrations are 139,137, down -9% on n-1. Performance is therefore lagging behind. The Grande Panda therefore comes at a crucial time for Fiat: the question remains whether this model will be able to reverse the trend and enable the brand to regain a leading position in Europe.

What about the Tipo - Agea replacement in Turkey? We don't read anything about it.
it will be replaced by the two upcoming SUVs (giga panda, fastback)
Habe 15 Fiat verschiedenen Modelle gefahren. Fiat war für mich das s beste.
Momentanen fahre ein Kia. Weil Fiat eine komplet falschen Modell Palette hatt.
Viele Modelle abgeschafft ohne nach Folge. Keine Diesel mit Automatik.
Sind sie selber Schuld.
I think Fiât's problem goes deeper than that. For over 10 years, the only communication has revolved around the 500! The other customers, like those of the ultra numerous old Puntos, have been abandoned and many have gone elsewhere. As a result, the customer base has been drained en masse. Because yes, because of its size, the big Panda does speak to them. What's more, in France we have the C3, which is the same thing.
I hope that, unlike the jeep avenger hybrid, it will be reliable!
Fiat is not launching the new version of the Fiat 500 hybrid until the end of 2025, the old version of the 500 hybrid seems to have disappeared from the catalog, the Grande Panda is just arriving, the Fiat 500e is not selling well, for some reason the 600 is not convincing (unlike the 500X, which has also disappeared from the catalog), I don't see how the figures could not be bad in Europe?
That leaves the Pandina, which accounts for the bulk of sales in Italy, and we can only hope that the Grande Panda does well.
The launch of the 600 was missed because it was first offered as an electric 100%. I think that if people come to the showroom to see the Grande Panda, they'll also be able to discover the 600.
Ah ok, I understand better about the 600. It's great, but it's another mistake to have imagined that electric cars would be snapped up. By the way, yesterday I saw the Abarth 600e Scorpionissima in hypnotic purple at the show for the first time. Not bad at all.
We know very well why she's not convincing...
FIAT wants a presence in North America yet they do not have a product here but the disastrous 500e that no one buys. FIAT needs to bring the Panda, a larger Crossover, 500 hybrid and a sedan. Give those cars a low starting price back by 10 year/100k mile comprehensive power train warranty and Americans will buy Fiats!
Was soll sowas???
Make clean diesel engines and you'll sell more cars...
I'm fed up with the greenies and their electric crap...
My wife likes it (it would be for her, I don't drive anymore) It's the PURETECH that puts me off, and I can't see on the configurator whether a sunroof is available as an option (essential for me) to be continued.
I repeat: the future lies with the diesel engine, at 3 liters per hundred kilometers. We need to put an end once and for all to the authoritarian whims of so-called environmentalists. There's nothing more efficient than the Fiat Multijet engine (1, 2 or 1, 6), which can still be improved. The rest is hot air. The mini-suvs in vogue at the moment are dreadful, and the Grande Panda's lines really suck. Ciao bambino!
