Although Fiat retains a significant market share, it is under pressure from competitors such as Toyota and Dacia, who are gaining ground. Italians' choice of foreign models is a wake-up call for Fiat, which may have underestimated the impact of its current range on this domestic market.

Turkey: a predictable descent

In Turkey, which remains one of Fiat's most important markets, the situation remains alarming. The down 28.92 % over 10 months reflects a stable but steep fall. The lack of renewal of popular models, such as the Tipo, and intense competition on the Turkish market are taking their toll.

However, the automaker knows that its current situation remains fragile. Fiat is counting on the arrival of the Grande Panda, whose the first models will roll off the production line in November 2024. What's more, rumors suggest that the next big model of 2025 could be an SUV, the Fastback, rather than the long-awaited Multipla.

  2. How could Fiat choose to abandon the B segment, that of the Fiat 127- Uno-Punto and Grande Punto, a segment that has always been Fiat's national and international workhorse? In doing so, Fiat has shot itself in the foot and made a huge gift to rival generalists, who weren't asking for so much. Fiat's decision is a textbook case!

    • The Grande Panda is in the B segment, but in fact the brand has abandoned this segment for too long. At the very least, Fiat needs to be continuously present in the A, B and C segments, and you can't stop a model without developing its successor and abandoning customers.

  3. Fiat is offering more and more electric models, such as the 500e, 600e and Grande Panda, but these models only account for 13% of sales in France (and probably no more in Italy).
