Fiat Grande Panda: we know when production will start

Production of the new Fiat Grande Panda to start at Serbia's Kragujevac plant in the second half of July, shortly after the official presentation of the Turin-based brand's new model. This information was revealed by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, during a televised address.

"On July 11, the model to be produced in Kragujevac will be presented in Italy and in the second half of July, together with Stellantis representatives, I will inaugurate the assembly line," said Vučić. Good news, since this indicates that the first deliveries will arrive shortly after the first orders.

For Vučić, the launch of the Great Panda represents a crucial moment not only for Kragujevac and the Sumadija region, but for Serbia as a whole. The President emphasized that the project will have a significant impact on growth in the country's gross domestic product (GDP). "We will produce an electric car, which is of great importance to us," he added. The Serbian government intends to support the acquisition of electric vehicles by offering incentives of 5,000 euros, with the possibility of increasing this amount for domestically produced vehicles.

A new era for Fiat and Serbia

Following the discontinuation of the 500L two years ago, the Grande Panda marks a strategic turning point for Fiat. This all-electric model is part of the brand's drive to meet the demands of the transition to electric vehicles, with a model that should be affordable (around €15,000) and made in Europe. For Serbia, setting up production of this model is a major economic opportunity. In addition to creating jobs, it should boost local industry.
