FIAT loves Kartell, and that's nothing new. From the mythical Fiat 500 to the ski rack of the 50s, via the 500th Kartell in 2020, the two Italian brands had already met in the field of design. In 2025, it's the Grande Panda that becomes the centerpiece of a creative laboratory presented at the Milan's Salone del Mobile. An interesting collaboration, rich in symbols and innovative materials. But with one small disappointment: once again, this model will not be marketed.
A style laboratory in the heart of Milan
From April 8 to 13, 2025, the Kartell Grande Panda will be on display at the Kartell stand at the Salone del Mobile. The fruit of collaboration between the Centro Stile FIAT and the renowned design house Kartell, this unique Grande Panda explores the possibilities of the fusion between two worlds: that of the automobile and that of product design.

A play of textures, contrasts between bright red on the outside and Tasmanian blue on the inside, thermo-embossed "kk" monograms, mixed Pop fabrics, chrome details and even a visual wink: the iconic Kartell lamp integrated into the dashboard. All in a futuristic atmosphere designed by Ferruccio Laviani.
A sustainable and attractive approach

Fiat and Kartell are also committed to eco-responsible innovation. These include elements in Polycarbonate 2.0 and an ingenious "tex to tex" process that gives a second life to unused textiles. The result: a seat cover with 60 % of recycled polyester, straight from Kartell's Foliage armchairs. A perfect example of the cross-disciplinary circular economy between design and the automotive industry.

Yes, but...
Where we might have hoped for a special edition in the style of the of the Fiat 500 Giorgio Armani, FIAT cuts hopes short. Contacted, the Italian brand confirmed : no marketing is planned. This Kartell Grande Panda is and will remain a concept, a "laboratory", a showcase for shared values between two historic houses.
And therein lies the rub. Because in a context where FIAT promises future limited editions across its entire rangeThis project would have been an opportunity to offer the public a new, original model.

I think that the entry-level positioning of the Panda makes it difficult to produce a Kartell production version, but I do hope that they will recycle this interior in the 600. But this operation also makes the Fiat brand much more desirable, which is a good idea.
Esercizio di stile senza senso se non avrà un seguito produttivo a prezzi accessibili.
