A mythical Ferrari sold for 34 million euros at auction spotted on the streets of Maranello

There's always something magical about seeing a FerrariAnd even more so when it's a legendary model such as the 1964 Ferrari 250 LM, recently sold for an impressive 34.8 million euros at the RM Sotheby's auction in Paris during the Retromobile show in February 2025. But that's not all: shortly before this historic sale.., the car was spotted on the streets of Maranello, the birthplace of Ferrari.

This Ferrari 250 LM is a motorsport icon, having won the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1965, with famous drivers Masten Gregory and Jochen Rindt at the wheel. It is also the only private Ferrari to have triumphed in this legendary race.

The car was manufactured in 1964, and only 32 examples of the 250 LM were produced. The recently sold model has been in the hands of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum for 54 years, during which time it has been meticulously maintained.

Before going on sale, the Ferrari 250 LM was sent to Maranello for a complete inspection. And it was here that enthusiasts were lucky enough to see it hit the road. A fan captured a rare moment when he filmed the Ferrari leaving the iconic Ferrari gate, where the famous yellow sign with the brand's logo illuminates the scene.
