
Ferrari is preparing to launch no less than six new models this year, as we as we mentioned a few weeks ago. Among the news, we suggested the possible arrival of a hybrid version of its first SUV, the Purosangue. And this hypothesis now seems to be gaining credibility.
Indeed, carspotter iliasabawi recently immortalized a Ferrari Purosangue prototype featuring an intriguing detail, to say the least: in addition to the traditional fuel filler flap, a second cut-out can be seen on the bodywork. This additional hatch could well conceal an electrical socket.
If confirmed, we could be seeing a Ferrari hybrid SUV in 2025, which would be added to the range already offered by the Italian manufacturer. Mechanically, the new model is likely to be powered by the Ferrari 296's V6 plug-in hybrid block, with a combined output of 830 hp. At the same time, Ferrari could also offer its customers a choice between this electrified engine and the traditional V12, to satisfy both purists and those seeking greater efficiency.
Of course, this information has yet to be officially confirmed by the brand. But at a time of ever-increasing demands in terms of pollutant emissions, it's hardly surprising to see Ferrari pursuing the electrification of its range, even in the SUV segment.
