Registration figures for Ferrari in January 2025 reveal surprises that shake up the established order of the brand's traditional markets. If we look at the six countries that account for two-thirds of Ferrari's worldwide sales, a number of striking facts upset expectations.
01/23 | 01/24 | 01/25 | Evolution | |
---|---|---|---|---|
United States | 163 | 199 | 175 | -12% |
Japan | 90 | 74 | 67 | -9% |
Germany | 123 | 162 | 131 | -19% |
United Kingdom | 80 | 82 | 58 | -29% |
Italy | 76 | 69 | 81 | 17% |
France | 15 | 7 | 21 | 200% |
Total | 547 | 593 | 533 | -10% |
One of the most notable surprises is undoubtedly France.with an increase of 200 % compared with January 2024. Although the volume of registrations is still well below that of countries such as the United States and Germany, this growth reflects good momentum.
On the other hand, some of Ferrari's biggest historic markets experienced significant declines. At United Statesone of the brand's main markets, registrations fell by 12 %This brings us back to January 2023 levels, after a slight increase last year. The situation is similar to Japanwhere sales fell by 9 % and show a second consecutive drop, a phenomenon that could be perplexing given that the country has historically been conquered by Ferrari.
L'Germany and the United Kingdom are not spared either. Germany is experiencing a 19 %This is the first time we've been able to bring the price back up to levels similar to those seen in January 2023. But it's United Kingdom that the situation seems most worrying: with a fall of 29 %the brand recorded its worst January in two years.
L'Italybehind giants such as the United States and Germany, finds itself in third place in January 2025, behind these two countries, but ahead of Japan and the UK. This is a particularly interesting development, as Italy is now ahead of markets that are still emblematic for Ferrari.
With these changes in the ranking of the top buyer countries, Ferrari has posted a drop of -10 % for January 2025. As a reminder, 2024 was a record year for the brandwith 13,752 units sold. Is it exceptional? Is it cyclical? Or is the brand beginning to make strategic decisions to limit production and maintain the exclusivity of its models, without aiming to exceed 14,000 units?
The year 2025 does not seem to mark a slowdown for Ferrari, however. The brand plans to launch 6 new products this year, including a particularly special car: the first electric Ferrari 100 %and our financial targets are +5 % in sales and +7 % in profits. Stay tuned for the next few months!
