The year 2025 will be rich in emotion for Ferrari enthusiasts. The Maranello-based manufacturer plans to present no less than six new models in the coming months. But one of them is already catching everyone's eye: the Ferrari 296 VS, expected to be officially revealed on April 29, via a 100 % digital launch. Probably the acronym for Version Speciale, the 296 VS is the ultimate evolution of the 296 GTB and GTS.

Extreme aerodynamics

Inspired by limited editions such as the 488 Pista or FXX-K, the 296 VS promises more aggressive lines and a completely revised aerodynamic kit. At the front, an S-duct, similar to that seen on the 488 Pista, optimizes front axle support. At the rear, an imposing diffuser enhances high-speed stability.

Leaks suggest some elements borrowed from the brand's extreme models, notably the FXX-K, with innovative solutions derived from racing. We therefore expect a car radically designed for the racetrack.

Upgraded power

Under the hood, the basis remains the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid developing 830 hp on the 296 GTB/GTS. But this special version could push the limits, to 900 hp or more, based on the optimized engine of the recent Ferrari F80 (1200 hp). Such an evolution would place the 296 VS at the top of its class in terms of power-to-weight ratio, with performance worthy of a hypercar.

A reworked sound?

Fans are also waiting for him in another arena: that of sonic emotion. Following criticism of the F80 for being too discreet, Ferrari is said to have hinted via the MyFerrari application that the 296 VS will benefit from specific work on sound, to offer an auditory experience to match its performance. This is sure to delight purists attached to the typical Maranello roar.

A supercar that's already highly coveted

Although not yet officially presented, the Ferrari 296 VS is generating massive interest. Pre-orders are already in abundance, proof that Ferrari customers are ready to snap up this extreme version. More powerful, sharper and more exclusive, it seems to tick all the boxes to become a future collector's item.
