If you're looking for a Ferrari with an extraordinary history, this could be the perfect opportunity. A Ferrari F512 TR, confiscated from a drug trafficker, has been put up for auction in Spain. The initiative has not gone unnoticed: all profits will go to drug addiction programs run by the Spanish Ministry of Health.

An icon of the '90s

The model in question is not just any Ferrari: it's a 1994 F512 TR, an evolution of the legendary Testarossa. Produced in just 2,261 units between 1991 and 1994, it embodies the quintessential Ferrari style and performance of the 90s.

Under the hood is a 4.9-liter V12 flat-six engine developing 428 hp at 6,750 rpm. From 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.8 seconds, for a top speed of 314 km/h. These figures are still impressive, even 30 years later.

The model up for auction has been redesigned to resemble the F512 M, the latest evolution of the Testarossa. Notable changes include fixed headlights under glass, redesigned bumpers, 18-inch wheels, double round taillights, and a custom interior with OMP harness and metal knob. The visual transformation is a success, even if it's not original to Ferrari.

A framed sale

The sale is taking place online on the Escrapalia platform, open to both private individuals and companies. It will close on April 10, 2025, with two days scheduled for physical visits.

The vehicle, bearing plate 1126JTD and chassis number ZFFLA40B000098553, is sold by the Spanish government delegation, no VAT applicable on the final price. However, the buyer will have to pay a €1,845 management fee and a commission of 17.3 %.

On the technical side, the Ferrari is sold as is, with 126,794 km on the clock. It hasn't been tested recently, has no battery, the tires need changing, and the mirrors are damaged. Nevertheless, the documentation is complete and an analysis of the vehicle's general condition is provided.

A base for collectors... or for restoration

Although modified, this Ferrari retains the soul of the F512 TR model. For purists, it's even possible to restore the car to its original configuration. A return to original specifications is estimated at between €14,000 and €24,000, depending on the availability of parts (front, rear, headlights, wheels...).
