The 2025 season of Formula 1 doesn't start as planned for the Scuderia Ferrari. After three Grands Prix, the prancing-horse team is in a modest 4th place in the constructors' standings, ahead of McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes. The hopes nourished by the good end to the 2024 season and the winter promises already seem to be fading in the rankings. And yet Ferrari dominates... an unexpected ranking.
Scuderia reigns supreme in the pits
Ferrari may not yet be shining on the track, but it's literally crushing the competition... in the pits! In the first three Grands Prix of the season - Australia, China and Japan - the Italian team scored the best stop in every race.
- 🛠️ Australia 2.32 seconds with Charles Leclerc
- 🛠️ China 2.05 seconds, again with Charles Leclerc (best stop of the season so far)
- 🛠️ Japan 2.18 seconds with Ferrari newcomer Lewis Hamilton
This treble in the DHL Fastest Pit Stop Award shows one thing: Maranello's mechanics are as sharp as ever. In a sport where every tenth of a second counts, Ferrari shows that it has at least one department that runs to perfection.

Something to put into perspective... or to worry about?
This paradox has not escaped observers: how does a team capable of such consistent operational excellence manage to turn this efficiency into points? Last year, Ferrari was criticized for its strategic errors and slow stops. This year, the situation is reversed: the pits are irreproachable, but the results have yet to follow.
It's worth noting that Lewis Hamilton, although still adapting, contributed to this domination with a lightning stop in Japan. An encouraging sign for the future, provided his on-track pace improves.
Waiting for better things to come in the race...
Instead of dominating the podiums, Ferrari has given itself an honorary but revealing title: that of pit stop master. A performance which, we hope, will serve as the basis for renewed momentum on the track from the next Grand Prix onwards.
So yes, Ferrari is number 1... but for now, it's not where we expected it to be.
