While the official presentation of the future Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV is scheduled for 2025, probably in June, the Stelvio will be presented at a later date, production may well be pushed back to 2026 due to the integration of electric motors in the model.
One of the main factors behind this delay is the production of high-performance electric motors, a key technology for the 100 % electric version of the SUV. While these motors are already produced in the USA at the Kokomo plant, the Szentgotthard plant in Hungary, will not start producing electric motors until 2026. This could mean that the Stelvio, although announced for 2025, won't hit the road until 2026. A situation that could lead to static presentations or a few pre-production models between now and the end of 2025.
The future Stelvio will be designed on the STLA Large platform, an architecture reserved for the Stellantis Group's top-of-the-range models, and will be offered with several powertrain options, including an all-electric version. At present, however, the electric model takes precedence, followed by hybrid versions. At the Paris Motor Show 2024, Santo Ficili, CEO ofAlfa Romeoconfirmed that hybrid versions will not be available immediately after launch. Like the Dodge Charger, the future Stelvio will probably feature two engines and a large 100 kWh battery.
The future Stelvio will be an image model for Alfa Romeo, with finish quality and features worthy of a top-of-the-range SUV. In our opinion, the electric model could cost as little as €70,000.
It is therefore likely that the Stelvio will be presented to the public in the months to come, in 2025, but that its production and launch will be delayed. availability will not begin in earnest until 2026.. This delay is mainly due to the setting up of the infrastructure required for electric motor production at the Szentgotthard plant in Hungary. In the meantime, the first Stelvio prototypes start rolling in ItalySee you in a few months for the presentation.
It's a shame that a good Alfa Romeo internal combustion engine is no longer available with a power output of around 160hp...
In this sheed of new models soon they will go bust
I have a stelvio from 2022, 120000km, I am told first cylinder head gasket (4000€) then once change maybe cracked engine (15000€ more) alpha romeo perpignan dealership totally incompetent (for them much better, no breakdowns!!! A view of the mind) the vehicle overheats to 130km / h in 5mm and goes to safety ... for me, alpha finished, and yet what a pleasure to drive, but unqualified sav!!!!
Alpha? Offensichtlich ein richtiger Kenner der Marke...
Ich fahre schon seit 40 Jahren Alfa. Alle Modelle gefahren. Jetzt einen 4C und Giulia Quadrifoglio. Sensationelle Autos und wunderschön. I habe eine kompetente sehr gut arbeitende Werkstatt.
After 6 years with Giulia models, I just replaced my second Giulia Veloce with a new Stelvio Quadrifoglio. It was the last chance. I've been waiting for a new Stelvio, but dealer explained to me that standard version will be a hybrid, while Q fully electric. What's more, it will be based on different STLA platform, while the existing one assures perfect handling and load balance. My dealer suggested that new Stelvio will be similar to Tonale in terms of exterior, and to Peugeot 2008 in terms of interior and quality. That's really sad AR is going in that direction, having so great platform appreciated by many drivers around the world. I will never buy electric AR, hopefully my new Quadrifoglio will stay with me for a long time and I won't need to bother about electric garbage on the market.
