The new generation Alfa Romeo Giulia is one of the brand's most eagerly awaited cars, and although the situation regarding the launch of the Stelvio SUV has been the subject of much discussion in recent weeks, recent information has clarified matters and reassured brand enthusiasts.
In our previous revelations, we announced that the second-generation Stelvio will be presented at the end of 2025 and marketed in 2026. However, this gave way to concerns about the Giulia, which could suffer a similar fate with a presentation in 2026 for marketing in 2027. Fortunately, this hypothesis has been dispelled thanks to information obtained directly from Alfa Romeo.
When we met Cristiano Fiorio, Head of Alfa Romeo Global Marketing and Communication, confirmed some good news for Giulia fans. Contrary to concerns, the new-generation Giulia will be in dealer showrooms by the end of 2026. This reassuring statement shows that, despite a slight delay for the Stelvio, Alfa Romeo has no intention of postponing the launch of the Giulia.
Cristiano Fiorio also told us that at the end of 2026, four Alfa Romeo models will have been on the market for less than four years, which marks a major change for the Milanese brand, rarely seen in this dynamic for a long time. Here's a look at the calendar:

While he declined to comment on the delay in marketing the Stelvio, This is probably due mainly to the integration of new technologies, such as the STLA Large platform, the electric motors developed at the Szentgotthard plant in Hungary and the STLA Brain system. With a range composed entirely of SUVs and crossovers. I came across a Tonale again, and the least they can do in addition to new, more dynamic drivetrains and clear interiors is to offer body-colored wheel arches... It's really the element that ruins the proportions.
I think exactly the same with the ugly wheel arches... Almost obliged to configure the models in black body color to make them harmonious!
Das beruhigt mich jetzt überhaupt nicht, da ich seit Wochen, seit die Crossover Entwicklung der Giulia bekannt wurde, in Aufruhr bin. Ich komme somit in Zugzwang, jetzt eine Giulia zu kaufen, obwohl ich es mir gerade eigentlich nicht guten Gewissens leisten kann. Des Weiteren, als ich dann schon im Konfigurator umtriebig war, fiel mir auf, wie (unnötig) eingeschränkt dieser ist. Es wird einem nahezu keine Wahl mehr für wichtige Elemente gelassen. Beispiele: ich möchte unbedingt die Active Suspension haben. Das schränkt mich auf die Intensa Reihe ein. Ich möchte rote Außenfarbe und eigtl gelbe oder zur Not rote Bremssättel haben. Not possible. Ich möchte eigtl innen weißes Leder haben. Nicht möglich. Zur Not Rot - nicht möglich (bei Intensa). Es ist wirklich zum Übergeben. Möchte Alfa nun Autos verkaufen oder nicht? Ich stehe hier vor einer einmaligen hohen Investition, die man als Normalverdiener wirklich nur einmal im Leben trifft, und dann bekomme ich noch nicht mal meine Wunsch Konfiguration? W T F Alfa! Ein absolutes Unding, finde ich.

Interesting... and worrying too. How many Giulias have already been sold globally? Personally, I've seen so few despite its 10-year career. The Giulietta seems to me to be 10 times more popular ... and yet it hasn't been replaced. Go figure
Alfa Romeo should make a sedan, KEEP the sedan, here in the states people are tired of crossovers. Basically every car out on the road is either a crossover or suv. Just like when Subaru got rid of the WRX sedan, WOW what a BIG mistake. Keep the Guilia name as a sedan. Im telling you DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE SUBARU DID.

Hello. I'm currently working in Cassino. We were supposed to start integrating the Giulia on the lines next week, but the project has just told us that we'll have the first parts at the end of August. I don't think Mr. Fiorio is really aware or honest with the setbacks this model's development is experiencing...
I have 2019 Giulia and it's really hard to beat this car and its shear driving dynamics, I would hesitate to trade it in for a cross over. However, the sedans are surviving and many automakers continue to produce them.
