New Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV: it will be presented on a symbolic date

Alfa Romeo sketch - Centrol Stile Alfa Romeo

The future Alfa Romeo Stelvio is one of the Italian manufacturer's most eagerly awaited models. So far, the brand has revealed very little information about this new SUV, not even the date of presentation, although it should be, according to our information, in a few months' time.

As a reminder, the new Stelvio is part of the new Alfa Romeo models for 2025. It will be designed on the STLA Large platform, the same used for the Stellantis Group's top-of-the-range models such as the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger. This means that the Italian brand's SUV will benefit from cutting-edge technology and a top-of-the-range finish. Alfa Romeo highlights its electric model as a priority, with two electric motors and a 100 kWh battery. The CEO of Alfa Romeo also stated that hybrid versions would arrive laterafter the launch of the 100 % electric version.

If the official presentation of the Stelvio is expected soon, production will be slightly delayed. Production of electric motors in Europe, at the Szentgotthard plant in Hungary, will not begin until 2026.

For Alfa Romeo, the new Stelvio is not just another model. It represents a real turning point for the brand, which will celebrate its 115th anniversary in 2025. It will be the first European model to use the STLA Large platform, and the first to inaugurate STLA Brain technology.

According to our information, we will be able to discover this long-awaited new SUV on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. A particularly significant date, as it marks exactly ten years since the presentation of the Giulia, an iconic model for the brand.

    • but there's a lot at stake for this model: real premium inside, new platform, new electric motors. expectations are much higher than for the Junior. i really hope i won't be disappointed by the design...

        • Well, with 62,000 sales worldwide, Alfa is a tiny player of little interest.
With the future Stelvio, we've gone into a frenzy of electric power and price, which will never make it a best seller.
As volumes will be low, it will be difficult to plan investments in diversified electrified internal combustion engines without being able to amortize them.
Don't forget that the other premium manufacturers continue to make progress, and can count on a customer base beyond compare: BMW sells over 2.2 million vehicles a year, Mercedes around 1.8 million and Audi around 1.6 million.

  1. It'll end up with a Citroën Peugeot, there's no other choice or solution! It's far too late for the Italian automotive industry. Alas.

    • Of course there are other choices and solutions, namely to use the 800V Giorgio Evo platform, the one used by Maserati for the GranTurismo. This is Stellantis' best current electric offering, and is compatible with high-performance internal combustion engines.

  2. Alfa is no longer alfa.... sharing a platform with Peugeot/Citroën signs the end of the Alfa heartbeat, that magical platform of the Guilia/Stelvio with all those aluminum elements... My Stelvio will be my last Alfa 🥺, unless a little pleasure with a Guilia QV (current model of course) one day ....

Schade.
